Biography

Dutch born artist AnaMarie Liddell began drawing at a young age. She has developed a personal style using graphite as her medium in which the details in her monochromatic artwork portrays tonal values that convey color intensity, surface properties, and ethereal light.

After graduating with a degree in studio art and certification in arts management, AnaMarie pursued her art and for many years was also the Exhibitions Manager at the UVA Art Museum. This position exposed her to a fine art collection that offered a myriad of techniques, concepts, and historical perspectives. Currently, she works exclusively in her home studio located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Her daily wanderings through the landscape inspire and remind her of the awe as well as the fragility of the natural world and it is this feeling that drives her art.

She is the recipient of numerous awards including Virginia Commission for the Arts, The American Artists Professional League, Brownsville Museum of Fine Art, and National Association of Women Artists. She has had exhibitions in museums and galleries throughout the United States.
